Philip K. Dick is interviewed by Charles Platt, at Phil’s home in Santa Ana, CA in 1979. This is the only version of these interviews available, to my knowledge. I transferred them from the original cassettes to digital 6 or 7 years ago to help Charles preserve a record.

It is a narrative history of PKD’s perception, marked by increasingly outlandish and visionary experiences that he describes in detail. It was an honor, and a deeply affecting experience, to listen to such a great thinker actively explore his own history, offering surprise nuggets of information and insight regarding his on-going experiences with the VALIS entity not mentioned elsewhere.
